Audience-Interactive MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival
Makes Fourth Annual Appearance at the Art Center
One World, One Week, One Festival
FREE; Reservations required*
Established in New York City in 1997, the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival receives more
than 500 entries from over 40 countries each year. Ten entries are selected as finalists
in the annual Festival and are then packaged and distributed on DVD to participating
theaters. Audiences from around the world unite not only to view the films, but to vote on
them as well. MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival will announce the winner on Sunday,
October 6 at 10 pm EST and the Art Center will also post the results at desmoinesartcenter.org.
Art Center audiences have predicted the overall winner two of the past three years.
A complete line-up of films can be found at www.msfilmfest.com.
Due to overwhelming demand, the Art Center is featuring expanded screenings
on Friday, September 27 at 6:30 pm (now at capacity); Sunday, September 29 at 1:30 pm;
and Friday, October 4 at 6:30 pm (now at capacity). Although the September 29 and
October 4 screenings are repeats of the September 27 program, audiences will have the
opportunity to vote at the conclusion of each screening. Films are not rated but are
intended for an adult audience, and are approximately two hours in length.
