Docent Program
Become a docent and learn more about the world of contemporary art. A docent is a museum-trained volunteer who conducts tours at the Des Moines Art Center and Pappajohn Sculpture Park for children or adults. The word "docent" is derived from the Latin word docere meaning "to teach."
Interested candidates must have an active e-mail account and be comfortable with digital communication. Candidates must be able to attend training classes every Thursday from 9:30am-noon and be available to lead at least one tour per week.
