SUMMARY:Art Workshop: Film Noir - Poster Design
DESCRIPTION:Private eyes\, femme fatales\, gangsters\, vampires\, gothic romances\, warped senses of reality\, alternate universes\, and murder. The early film movements of German Expressionism and its Hollywood spin off\, Film Noir\, show a more sinister side of reality. Described as oneiric\, strange\, erotic\, ambivalent\, and cruel\, these styles of film made lasting impressions on the world. In this workshop\, students will create a large poster or series of advertisements for an existing film or a film fabrication of their own. A lecture about both film movements will be given to illuminate the specific styles of a darker time in film and cinema. \nREGISTER \nDes Moines Art Center members receive a 20% discount on all classes\, camps\, and workshops! Become a member today.  \nScholarships for classes and materials are offered on our application page.
