Description
MONOTYPE PRINTMAKING
Monotype is unique in printmaking because the artist only gets one original work. As monotypes are often made directly with the hand — rather than printed from a matrix — they often seem more painterly and playful than other forms of printmaking. Monotype techniques may be used on their own, combined, and mixed with more traditional printmaking techniques or non-print materials. In this class students will learn watercolor monotype, trace monotype, stenciling, and subtractive monotypes (both black and white and three-color).
