Members of Print Club are invited to learn and participate in a screenprint workshop with two of Iowa’s most renowned printmakers, Aaron Wilson and Tim Dooley of Midwest Pressed.

Founded in 2011 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Midwest Pressed emerged from collaborative artworks while teaching printmaking together at the University of Northern Iowa. The press produces a wide array of artworks, including fine art prints, public projects, and printed ephemera. Midwest Pressed’s artwork is generally characterized as intensive, colorful, and layered. However, the pair of artists are primarily known for their experimental approach to printmaking, which includes sculptural applications and installations. Their work blurs the line between the museum and the street, engaging in a pop art dialogue that transcends distinctions between high and low culture.

11:30 am – 12 pm | COFFEE/PASTRIES
Before the workshop, gather with fellow members for coffee and pastries in the education wing of the Des Moines Art Center.

Midwest Pressed will lead the workshop in Principal Studios 5 and 6.
Participants will leave with a print of their own!

Space is limited, register by May 13.
