Art Noir’s mission is to advance the involvement, interest, and participation of adults ages 21-40 in Des Moines Art Center programs; to promote membership and charitable giving to the Des Moines Art Center; and to advocate the role that the arts play in society and enhance the creative community.   • Art Noir Events Chair

    The Events Chair is responsible for coordinating with the Art Noir Advisory Committee and Art Center staff to oversee the planning and execution of all Art Noir events (four per year). Individually or with a Committee member as lead of the event, this person must develop a proposal and plan, which includes overseeing the budget, timeline, relevant deadlines, and actionable steps for implementing the event. They must also be equipped to form and preside over committees, as necessary, and to delegate responsibilities as appropriate to the Advisory Committee and volunteers.

    The Events Chair must attend monthly evening Art Noir Committee meetings, collaborate closely with Art Center staff, and work to build and strengthen ties with other beneficial partner organizations. Attendance at all Art Noir events is required. This is a two-year position. All Committee members must be members of the Art Center and Art Noir.
