The Des Moines Art Center celebrated 25 years of the Community Access Program with an original dance performance titled “Threads” by the Swan Project and a short video highlighting the 50+ year legacy of Gateway Dance Theatre. Both dance ensembles have drawn inspiration from the art and architecture and performed in various spaces in and around the museum over the years.
Swan Project is a grassroots initiative in Des Moines, Iowa that supports transformation, restoration, and curation through performance and wellness practices.
Gateway Dance Theatre (GDT), is an urban arts multifaceted program to provide quality arts programming. GDT is family-friendly and based on the concept that training in the arts is essential to a complete education.
