Celebrating Black History programming was developed in partnership with Urban Dreams.
All are encouraged to attend a beautiful and moving evening celebrating Black History through music and story. The sounds of djemebe drumming and traditional West African music performed by Augustine Mambu (Sierra Leone) and Brima Jollah (Sierra Leone) will fill the Harriet S. and J. Locke Macomber Lobby. In between performances, a unique tour opportunity will be offered. Using a few artworks in the museum as starting places, Negus Sankofa Imhotep, a beloved educator, orator, and community ally, will lead us on a tour of personal storytelling. Negus is an Academic and Workforce Coordinator at Urban Dreams.
Join us for all or part of the evening. There is no reservation required for this drop-in event.
