In partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Iowa Chapter, we invite members of the LGBTQ+ community to come together for a program in support of Life After Suicide Loss. These sessions are in recognition of International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day on November 22.
During this session, individuals ages 13+ from the LGBTQ+ community are encouraged to honor loved ones lost to suicide through art, reflection, and community connection. This gathering includes a docent-led exploration of artworks centered on resilience and mental health, followed by creative expression in the Art Center studios and a collective ritual of remembrance.
Participants are invited to bring a photo or small item of their loved one to place on the community remembrance table if they wish.
