Join us before the film at The Varsity Cinema for an introduction by Art Center Senior Curator Laura Burkhalter about Manuel Álvarez Bravo, the “father of Mexican photography,” who worked on this and other films of the era. “Manuel Álvarez Bravo: Collaborations,” an exhibition of his collaborative photography, is on view at the Des Moines Art Center from October 25, 2025 – January 18, 2026.
