October 1 – 7 is National Walk Your Dog Week, so we invite you to bring your furry friend and join us for a dog-centered guided tour of the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park. Des Moines Art Center docent, Allan, and his chihuahua Cesar, will lead this walking tour of the park together, teaching participants more about the sculptures on view. Get outside with your dog on a beautiful fall day and enjoy the sculpture park!
Dogs must be leashed at all times and remain with their owners. This event is best suited for dogs with no dog or human reactivity, as the group will move together throughout the park and stop at various sculptures to learn about the artworks. The Pappajohn Sculpture Park is always open to leashed dogs and their families; more about the park as well as a guided audio tour about the artworks can be found here on our website.
