UPCYCLED/RECYCLED ART
Make something beautiful from discarded objects! This camp is for kids who love seeing the creative potential in non-art materials. Using contemporary artists such as El Anatsui, Andrea Zittel, Nick Cave, and Mark Bradford as inspiration, campers will upcycle from the studio’s collection of clean donations, such as old signage, buttons, rubber inner tubes, and more! Campers will learn how to make new paper from recycled paper pulp and how to make one-of-a-kind pieces from found objects. Campers will make a special visit to the Hurricane Season exhibition at the Art Center museum!
Tuition $158 ($126 *members) per AM/PM session / Material fee $10
Campers now receive a Des Moines Art Center summer camp t-shirt as part of their tuition.
