ECO ART: USING NATURAL AND UPCYCLED MATERIALS IN ART (PAPER MAKING, JUNK SCULPTURES)

The world is full of art waiting to be made! This camp is for kids who love seeing the creative potential in non-traditional art materials like acorns, bottle caps, and old socks! Learn how to make paints using materials from nature like grass, turmeric, and coffee.

Using contemporary artists such as El Anatsui, Andrea Zittel, and Lonnie Holley as inspiration, campers will upcycle from the studio’s collection of natural materials and clean donations, such as old signage, buttons, rubber inner tubes, and more!

Campers now receive a Des Moines Art Center summer camp T-shirt as part of their tuition.
