Community Resiliency programs occur in non-profit wellbeing and social service organizations in the Des Moines metro and beyond to make art with youth and adults that may be experiencing social isolation, houselessness, chronic illness, disability, or other adversities. The goal of this programming is to encourage participants to build resiliency and encourage self-expression within a safe environment created by our teaching artists.
In addition to developing customized programming with partnering organizations, we also offer a program called Creatively Caring. Creatively Caring provides rest and regeneration for employees who are working as direct support professionals, teachers, or healthcare professionals. A team of teaching artists travels to sites offering 30-minute workshops based on slow looking, meditation, and expressive arts. These programs can be requested by community organizations at any time and are always free.
