Celebrating Black History programming was developed in partnership with Urban Dreams.

Learn about Juneteenth, from its origins 156 years ago to how it’s celebrated today, both nationally and locally, with civic leader and General Chairperson of Iowa Juneteenth Dwana Bradley. Bradley’s message is conversational and will be illustrated with key images. Join us at 5:30 pm and learn how you can be involved in this year’s festivities!

Art Center+ programming throughout February proudly invites you to support Black’d Out Books, a community project led by artist Cameron Gray. The Art Center will serve as a collection site on an ongoing basis. Donate books written by Black authors for Free Black Libraries throughout Ames and Des Moines. Bring your book donation to Art Center+ events and learn more about the project by following Gray on Instagram @cam_gogh.

Also being offered tonight is Amore & Vino, a romantic prix fixe dinner by Tangerine at the Art Center. You can attend one or both of these events this evening. Reservations and prepayment are required for the dinner. Click here for full details.

Reservations are not required for the Juneteenth presentation.
