Join Des Moines Art Center Associate Curator Beth Gollnick and our 2026 Iowa Artist Henry Payer for an insightful conversation that traverses Payer’s multi-media practice, exploring the importance of Ho-Chunk traditions and Western popular culture in his work, as well as the themes compelling his practice, including history, relocation, and resilience. Payer’s exhibition, l“Aagakinak Haciwi: We Live Opposite Each Other” is on view at the Art Center through June 17.
This lecture is supported by the Margaret Ann (Dudie) Ash Fund.
