Event Details

Join us for the opening celebration of “Iowa Artists 2024: b. Robert Moore.” Des Moines-based, Iowa-born artist b. Robert Moore is known for powerful, striking works of art that confront issues of social justice and Black identity. Visually and emotionally direct, Moore frequently draws on his own biography for inspiration, likewise on the experiences and identities of friends and family members.

Take in the new show from the Art Center’s long-standing Iowa Artists exhibition series. Bring family and friends to kick off the evening with complimentary desserts galore from Tangerine Food Co., including a selection of cookies, chocolates, ice cream floats, and more. The dessert table will pair perfectly with a special feature of complimentary coffee selections by BLK & Bold Specialty Beverages. (Beer and wine available for purchase.) Enjoy music provided by DJ cDisiac and floral design by Wild Flower. Remarks from the John and Mary Pappajohn Director and exhibition Curators will take place at 6 pm.

This event is free; registration is not required. This event will be documented with photography.
