“Minor Key” Gallery Talk, featuring Samantha Box and Mia Laufer

Join artist Samantha Box and guest curator Mia Laufer, Ph. D. for an illuminating talk about the juxtaposition of artworks that comprise “Minor Key.” The collaboration between artist and curator installs works from the Des Moines Art Center’s permanent collections alongside images from Box’s “The INVISIBILE Archive,” a body of work that records the lives of at-risk LGBTQIA+ youth of color in New York City (2005 – 2017). Box and Laufer will talk about these pairings and explore the emotional resonance of the artwork on view with guests.
