DES MOINES, IOWA (October 2025) – The Des Moines Art Center invites families and kids of all ages to explore how art brings people together during Entirely Kids Day: Together on Saturday, November 29 from 11 am – 3 pm.

Entirely Kids Day is a free event and unique forum in which to create and connect side-by-side in a celebration of art. With fellow guests, join a round of the classic Hokey Pokey dance, team up to complete scavenger hunts through the galleries, and experiment with pastel portraits and collaborative sculptures in the studios.

To further highlight the spirit of collaboration, the Art Center has arranged activities with local partners, Seedling’s Children’s Theater, to host improv workshops and, Pied Piper Studios, to facilitate group soundscapes and sensory-friendly jams with percussion instruments.

Entirely Kids Day: Together is inspired by two exhibitions that will be on view at the Art Center during the event with themes of partnership and community: “Manuel Álvarez Bravo: Collaborations,” is an exhibition surrounding collaborative photography and “Aliza Nisenbaum: Día de los Muertos,” is an exhibition with murals and portraits of Des Moines community members and the annual Día de los Muertos celebration at the Art Center. See “Aliza Nisenbaum: Día de los Muertos” through January 11, 2026, and “Manuel Álvarez Bravo: Collaborations,” through January 18, 2026.

Generous support is provided by Principal® Foundation and Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program. Part of the Principal® Foundation Youth Learning and Engagement Initiative, Entirely Kids Day is a community tradition providing a space for joy and inspiration when families experience and create art together.
