Become a Member

1.  Download the eMembership Card application on your smartphone.
2.  Search for “Des Moines Art Center.”
3.  Click the button “Find My Membership Cards.”
4.  On the first line, enter your Des Moines Art Center membership number. On the second line, enter your last name.
5.  Click “Find ” Your membership card should pull up and you can click “Download My Cards” to save it.
6.  To access your downloaded card, click on “Show My Membership Cards” in the app. If you have an iPhone, you can also save your card to your apple wallet.

Your membership will expire at the end of the month, one year from the date of purchase. Early renewal will extend your current expiration date by one year.

Degree-seeking students (18+), educators, artists, seniors (65+), and active military personnel are eligible for a 20% discount on memberships at the Individual level. This discount does not apply to other membership levels.

Individual, Dual/Household, Ambassador, and Salon level memberships are 100% tax deductible. Only $50 of the Curator’s Circle level membership is not tax deductible. Only $250 of the Director’s Circle level membership is not tax deductible.

You bet! You may be able to double or even triple your contribution to the Art Center through a matching gift. Contact your company’s HR department for a matching gift form and return it with your payment. Your membership level will correspond with the total gift amount.

You can purchase an Individual, Dual/Household, Ambassador, or Salon level membership with a donor advised fund (DAF) or through my qualified charitable distribution (QCD) because these levels are 100% tax deductible. The Curator’s Circle and Director’s Circle level memberships require a non-deductible portion of the membership to be paid by personal cash, check, or credit card. The Curator’s Circle non-deductible portion is $50. The Director’s Circle non-deductible portion is $250.

No, a membership functions as a donation to the Art Center and is not eligible for a refund.

The Des Moines Art Center is pleased to provide reciprocal membership benefits through NARM and ROAM at over 1,300 premier arts and cultural museums across the United States to our members at the Ambassador ($140) level and higher. Members at the Salon ($250) level and higher receive free admission and benefits to an additional 70+ modern and contemporary museums in the US and Canada through MOD-CO.

Individual museums may define family/household benefits differently from the Des Moines Art Center and restrict some reciprocal privileges. We recommend that you contact participating museums before your visit.

Dual / Household membership benefits extend to two adults residing in the same household and any dependent children or grandchildren. The name(s) of the adult(s) must be listed on the membership. Children under the age of 18 are not eligible for Individual memberships.
