Artist Andy Goldsworthy creates Prairie Cairn, 2001 at the Conrad Environmental Research Area, Newton, Iowa and discusses the larger project titled “Three Cairns,” of which this piece is a first step. “Three Cairns” is cross-continental project by Goldsworthy, initiated by the Des Moines Art Center and organized in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, California, and the Neuberger Museum of Art, Purchase, New York.
